This app requires the iWavit "Made for iPhone" accessory in order for it to work. See www.iwavit.com for more details.

This "iWavit TiVo" app will turn your iPhone (or iPod touch and iPad) into a virtual metaphor of a real IR remote for controlling the TiVo DVRs, specifically the Premiere HD DVR TCD746320.

Launch this app, then insert the iWavit attachment into the iPhone/iPod touch and you will hear a "gun-cocking" sound indicating that the iWavit has paired successfully with the iPhone. (The iWavit USB dongle and IR Lightbar are not required although they add extra wireless extender functionality). Now you are ready to control your TiVo DVR.

This remote should be very familiar to TiVo owners. The button layout is similar to the remote that ships with TiVo boxes. Swipe left-right to flip your Virtual 3D Remote between 4 different screens (3D facets) with all the buttons normally found on a TiVo remote.

There are a few notable benefits of the iWavit Virtual Remotes over traditional physical Remotes:

1. Virtual Remotes reduce living room clutter.
You can have a large diverse collection of remotes in one easy to find location - your iPhone.

2. The buttons are large and easy to hit.
By creating multiple screens for each remote, you can have large buttons without requiring a large bulky remote.

3. The remote is well lit.
With the iPhone lit touchscreen there is no need to turn on the lights to adjust the volume or change channel.

4. Never lose your remote.
It does not matter which remote it is. It is all in your iPhone. If you should lose it you just call the phone.

If you have the optional "iWavit USB Dongle & IR Lightbar" (which also ships in the iWavit Premium Kit) you will also be able to blast your IR commands from the IR Lightbar instead of from the iWavit Attachment & iPhone. You do this by tapping the lower right icon on the front screen and selecting "Blast from USB dongle". The iPhone will then send all subsequent signals via 2.4GHz Radio Frequency to the USB dongle (plugged into any powered USB port or USB wall adaptor) which in turn will tell the IR lightbar to emit a very strong IR signal blast from its 6 Infrared LEDs. You can be up to 100 meters away from the USB dongle. Now you no longer need to point your iPhone directly at the device you wish to control. The USB dongle will of course need to be within IR range of the device to be controlled, but it is quite poweful.

All buttons on this remote are re-programmable. Many people attach their TVs to surround-sound systems and need to control the volume on these devices instead of directly on the TV or the TiVo box, for example. To re-program these buttons, simply hold down the p-button and then tap the button you wish to change. You will then be guided through the process of learning a new IR code for this button.

In the lower left of the front screen, there is "Home" icon. Tap this to launch the "iWavit Flow" app (if it is installed). This app provides for convenient cover-flow browsing of all your iWavit remotes, as well as all iWavit apps available on the Apple App Store.

The "iWavit TiVo" app is part of a family of iWavit Virtual Remotes for Major-Brand electronic devices, and PCs and Macs. For those who wish to create their own custom Remote Controls, we have created the Ultimate Remote Control app called Tabula Rasa for the iPhone and iPod touch, and Tabula Rasa HD for the iPad. With the Tabula Rasa apps you can create your own remotes, download remotes, upload remotes to share them with others, search our IR database or learn IR codes directly from your old IR remotes. You can even create macros for embedding multiple functions inside a single button. You can also use the app to control PCs/Macs using USB Keyboard strokes or through the patented DirectPointing air-mouse technology built into the iWavit. (PC/Mac control requires the plug&play iWavit USB Dongle)
